Elchin Usub is currently the Chairman of the Board of Shamakhi FK and is recognized as one of the prominent figures in Azerbaijani sports law and football management. He holds a PhD in Law, is a licensed attorney, a member of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Bar Association, and the Head of the Azerbaijan office of Rödl & Partner, an international legal and consulting company based in Germany.
With many years of experience in football governance and sports law, Elchin Usub served as the Chairman of the Legal Committee of AFFA from 2004 to 2006 and as the Chairman of the Licensing Commission of AFFA from 2004 to 2011.
Since 2017, he has also been serving as the Football Affairs Coordinator of the Azerbaijan Bar Association on a voluntary basis. Between 2017 and 2022, he was the head of the “Advokat” futsal team, which competed in the Second League of the Azerbaijan Futsal Championship and became league champions in its final season.
From 2020 until July 2022, Elchin Usub served as the Chairman of the Board of the “Athlete Lawyers” Foundation and currently remains a member of its Board of Trustees. In addition, he plays an active role in European football governance as a Board Member of the UEC (Union of European Clubs).
